RecTech IT Support Coordinator (Rainier Beach)

Associated Recreation Council, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is recruiting for an RecTech IT Support Coordinator to work with children, teens and adults to provide computer, printer and media support in the RecTech Computer Lab at the Rainier Beach Community Center.

Pay Rate: $16 per hour, part-time, non-exempt position


  • Tuesday – Friday or Monday - Thursday; 4 days per week; 20 – 25 hours per week

Basic Duties:

  • Open and close the computer lab
  • Assist children, teens and adults with customer support issues related to computer equipment, software programs, media, technical techniques
  • Ability to answer questions from the participants related to the above in a simple, basic and easy to understand manner
  • Ability to write short tutorials or basic instructions related to computer, printer or software procedures
  • Collaborate with other service organizations including Seattle Parks and Recreation staff, RecTech volunteers, and community partners

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Proven experience working with children, teens and adults in instructional and/or service environments
  • A desire to use and teach technology (computers, printers, digital cameras, projectors, multimedia equipment) to community center participants
  • Solid knowledge of basic computer programs, PC computer hardware, such as a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and basic knowledge of a CPU (how to turn on, where to plug in monitor, keyboard, etc.).
  • Commitment to serving a diverse clientele
  • Ability to communicate in written and verbal form with various audiences
  • Knowledge of Rainier Beach community is preferred

This is a part-time, non-benefitted, exempt position.
