Preschool Camp Assistant Instructor

The Summer Preschool Camp Assistant Instructor at Montlake Community Center will work with a group of preschoolers between the ages of 2-4 in specific age appropriate and fun activities that are planned and organized by the Preschool Camp Lead Instructor.

Location: Montlake Community Center


  • Monday – Friday 20-40 hours per week; mandatory pre-camp training and orientation will be offered.
  • Hours are 8:45am - 12:45pm and dependent upon sufficient program participants and program schedule.

Start date: June 18, 2018

End date: August 31, 2018

Pay range:  $15.50-16.25 per hour DOE 

Basic duties:

  • Work with the Preschool Camp Lead Instructor to implement age appropriate preschool activites and games
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and the general public
  • As needed, complete required administrative reports such as accident/incident reports
  • Ensure that the area is kept organized and orderly


  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • AA or AS in Education, or related field preferred
  • At least one year experience working in recreational programs and/or educational activities for preschoolers
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to get training in the summer or prior to the summer program
  • Must pass a WSP criminal background check, valid WA state driver’s license
  • Successful candidate must also be willing to attend a (paid) new hire orientation and training.  Preference given to applicants available for the majority of the summer
