Summer Sports Camp Counselor (Montlake)

Our Summer Sports Camp Counselors work with children between the ages of 5-12 in a specific sport camp.  Sports offered are: Soccer, Baseball, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse, Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Cheer.

Location: Montlake Community Center

Summer Specialty Day Camp Schedule:

Start Date: June 18, 2018

End Date: August 31, 2018


  • Monday – Friday, 25-40 hours per week
  • Available shifts are 8:00am – 6:00pm but could be am or pm depending on the program/schedule
  • Mandatory pre-camp training and orientation will be offered

Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour

Basic duties:

  • Plan and implement age appropriate drills and games for your designated sport, focusing on the fundamentals and good sportsmanship
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and the general public
  • Prepare a weekly calendar of activities
  • Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance and activity logs, accident/incident reports, hot sheets, and evaluations
  • Prepare and manage a budget for your program
  • Ensure that equipment is inventoried and stored properly


  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • AA or AS in Physical Education, or related field preferred
  • At least two years experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to get trained before summer
  • Must pass a WSP criminal background check, valid WA state driver’s license
  • Successful candidate must also be willing to attend a (paid) new hire orientation and preference given to applicants available for the majority of the summer
