Summer Specialty Camp Tennis Lead Instructor (Garfield)

The Summer Specialty Camp Tennis Lead Instructor at Garfield Community Center will lead a group of youth between the ages of 5-12 primarily in Tennis activities and drills but may be asked periodically to assist with other sports camps such as:  Soccer, Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse

Location: Garfield Community Center

Start Date: June 25, 2018

End Date: August 31, 2018

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 20-40 hours per week
  • Available shifts are 8:00am – 6:00pm but could be am or pm depending on the program/schedule
  • You may be asked to work as a counselor in other camps including art, lego, or sports camps
  • Mandatory pre-camp training and orientation will be offered

Pay Range: $19 - $20 per hour

Basic duties:

  • Plan, lead and implement age appropriate fundamentals, drills and activities
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and the general public
  • Prepare a weekly calendar of activities
  • Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance and activity logs, accident/incident reports, hot sheets, and evaluations
  • Prepare and manage a budget for your program
  • Ensure that equipment and supplies are cleaned and stored properly

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • AA or AS in Early Childhood Education, Physical Education or related field preferred
  • At least two years experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to get trained before summer
  • Must pass a WSP criminal background check, valid WA state driver’s license
  • Successful candidate must also be willing to attend a (paid) new hire orientation and preference given to applicants available for the majority of the summer
