Summer Tennis Sports Camp Lead Instructor

The Summer Tennis Sports Camp Lead Instructor at Montlake Community Center will lead a group of youth between the ages of 5-12 primarily in Tennis but may be asked periodically to assist with other sports camps such as:  Soccer, Baseball, Ultimate Frisbee, Lacrosse, Flag Football, Basketball, Volleyball, and Cheer.

Location: Montlake Community Center

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday 20-40 hours per week; mandatory pre-camp training day will be offered.
  • Hours for Tennis are generally 8:45am – 12:45pm 
  • May be scheduled for other camps in the afternoon

Start date: June 18th, 2018

End date: August 31, 2018

Pay range as the Tennis Lead:  $18 - $22 per hour DOE 

Basic duties:

  • Plan, lead, implement and run age appropriate drills and games for the tennis program, focusing on the fundamentals and good sportsmanship
  • Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and the general public
  • Prepare a weekly calendar of activities
  • Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance and activity logs, accident/incident reports, hot sheets, and evaluations
  • Prepare and manage a budget for your program
  • Ensure that equipment is inventoried and stored properly

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • AA or AS in Physical Education, or related field preferred
  • At least two years’ experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to get trained before summer
  • Must pass a WSP criminal background check, valid WA state driver’s license
  • Successful candidate must also be willing to attend a (paid) new hire orientation and mandatory training.  Preference is given to applicants available for the majority of the summer
