Youth Cooking Instructor

The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) is recruiting a Youth Cooking Instructor. The Youth Cooking Instructor will be responsible for creating and leading kids 2 - 12 years old through cooking lessons. The youth cooking instructor will be responsible for managing a classroom of class participants. As well as building strong relationships with participants, staff and partners. Creativity, patience, and a love for teaching are a must! 


Location: Ballard and Loyal Hieghts Community Centers

Pay rate: $20.00 - $24.00 Hourly DOE

Start date: Tuesday, February 6, 2018

Schedule: Tuesdays from 10:30am - 12:00pm (Ballard) and Thursdays from 5:00pm - 6:00pm (Loyal Hieghts) 

End date: Thursday, December 27, 2018



  • Experience managing a classroom of youth ages 2 - 12 
  • 2 - 5 years of experience teaching and leading a cooking class
  • Ablity to develop and deliver lessons plans 
  • Over the age of 21 years old
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must provide valid government-issued ID and proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Willingness to obtain First Aide/CPR certification 


This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
