ARC has been the nonprofit partner of Seattle Parks and Recreation for over 45 years. Together we serve the residents and visitors of Seattle by offering a variety of recreation and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. It’s ARC’s mission to inspire engagement and participation in equitable, dynamic, culturally relevant, and responsive recreation, childcare, and lifelong learning programs.
Fund the Fun is a free community breakfast ARC began hosting in 2019 to raise funds for youth sports and recreation scholarships for families in our community. Over the last four years, we’ve raised over $125,000. In 2022 alone, we raised nearly $34,000 and provided scholarships to 196 youth so they could participate in recreation and sports programs last year.
This free community event is made for anyone who values the importance of equitable access for all children to participate in sports and recreation programs, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. Whether you’re a long-time friend of ARC, or you’re just learning about our work, you’re sure to be informed and inspired at Fund the Fun. We’ll invite all our guests to make a gift in support of youth sports and recreation scholarships in an amount that’s meaningful to them.

Tom Farrey from the Aspen Institute is the 2023 Fund the Fun keynote speaker. Tom believes in the power of collaboration between parks and recreation departments, local businesses, professional sports teams, and youth-focused nonprofits. He’ll share stories of what this looks like to get us thinking about what we can do here at home. He’ll also talk about “the power of the permit,” and if you don’t know what that means, make sure you join us at the breakfast!
Some of our current and past sponsors include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Regence, Seattle Parks and Recreation, Harborstone Credit Union, and Sound Community Bank, to name just a few. To learn more about joining us as a sponsor, contact Sonia Doughty at [email protected] or 206-465-2580.
