How to celebrate Pride Month in 2020

June 19, 2020 | by Julian Baet

Pride Month is a time for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to come together in celebration, and also to raise awareness about current issues. Even in times of social distancing, it is still important to recognize and celebrate Pride.

Pride celebrations are unexpectedly different this year, but there are many virtual events to provide an inclusive, educated, and entertaining experience. Here are several resources for Pride events hosted in Seattle and around the world.

Seattle Pride Events

The iconic Seattle Pride Parade is hosting a variety of engaging, informative, and fun virtual events for anyone to enjoy. From dance parties to educational discussions, you can find all of the Seattle Pride events listed on their website.

Together for Pride 2020

In place of this year’s Pride Parade, Together for Pride weekend (June 26-28) takes place over the span of three days. Enjoy performances, speeches, discussions, and virtual activities. Here is the full weekend schedule.

June 28: Seattle Pride

Seattle Pride will culminate over 3 days, including a mix of live and recorded sessions, ranging from 20-40 minutes.

In addition to the programs, Sunday will feature a nonprofit virtual exhibition hall and vendor virtual village. Online visitors will be able to visit a virtual version of vendor “booths” and support local artists and creators.
