ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is recruiting for a Basketball Instructor. The Basketball Instructor will be responsible for teaching the basics of basketball to kids 5 -12 years old. The instructor will be responsible for leading kids through the fundamentals and game rules of basketball. The instructor must have the ability to engage with a diverse group of children and manage a group various ages. Creativity, patience, and a love for teaching and basketball are a must!
Location: Alki Community Center
Schedule: Tuesdays 2:30pm-4pm
Dates: January 15 - April 2, 2019
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 DOE Hourly
Instructor needed for Basketball Enrichment at Alki Elementary. Typically, classes meet once a week and last approximately 10 weeks per session. There are anywhere from 5-12 Elementary age students. The instructor is responsible for planning unique, engaging lessons within the subject and description of the class—with assistance from Program Admin as needed. This instructor must also be able to effectively teach Basketball to kids of varying ages and abilities, tailoring drills and exercises to each student. This posting is for Basketball specifically but there are many opportunities to teach other subjects and other sessions as well—especially in sports classes—anywhere up to 10 hours a week as schedules permit.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position.
