Associated Recreation Council is delighted to announce that the Seattle Kraken's Everett “Fitz” Fitzhugh – who made history by becoming the National Hockey League's first Black broadcaster, will be joining us as our keynote speaker at Fund the Fun on March 24th.
Fitz is the only Black play-by-play announcer at any professional level in North American hockey. He came to the Seattle Kraken after hosting radio play-by-play for the Cincinnati Cyclone, the Buffalo Sabres affiliate, for the past five years.
Fund the Fun raises much needed funds every year for youth sports and recreation scholarships for our neighbors in need. The event is free to attend, and we hope our guests will donate to support the scholarship fund at its conclusion. If you have not already, click here to register for this important community event and hear Fitz’s inspiring words!
We look forward to seeing you on March 24th. As always, contact us anytime with questions, comments, or ideas at [email protected] or at 206.465.2580
