Preschool Program 

Preschool Programs are based on The Creative Curriculum for Preschool from Teaching Strategies. Children attending at least three days a week will be observed and assessed using The Creative Curriculum developmental objectives.

Our preschool program engages the developmental needs of young children, focusing on emotional, social, physical, and cognitive skills to prepare children for success in school and in life. Classrooms are set up with safe and nurturing environments, fun-filled learning areas, consistent schedules and routines, and both large and small group times. Preschool activities include art, dramatic play, library time, cooking, discovery science, singing, and outdoor play.

  • Low teacher-child ratio of 1:8
  • Staff is trained in Early-Childhood curriculum, CPR/First Aid, and safe food handling practices
  • Children 3-4 years old and 5 year olds not enrolled in school are welcome. Children need to be fully potty-trained (no diapers or pull-ups permitted)

A non-refundable $25 deposit is required during registration, and the balance of fees is due August 1, 2022.

The Seattle Preschool Program's (SPP) goal is to make voluntary, high-quality preschool available and affordable to all of Seattle’s 3 and 4 year old children.

For this program, Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) will supply partial lunches and two snacks made up of fruits and vegetables from our Farm to Table program. Parents are responsible for sending a partial lunch with food items from a list of suggested healthy food options.

We will be offering programs following the Seattle Public School (SPS) calendar and SPS breaks are NOT included.
*Check with your local community center preschool for any additional closures.

  • Parent Conference Meetings: Sept 6-8 (SPP/Pathways programs – part of the Licensed Childcare Centers)
  • First Day of Program: Sept 11
  • Indigenous People's Day: Oct 9
  • Veteran's Day Observed: Nov 10
  • Thanksgiving: Nov 23-24

 Holiday closures are included in the Family Handbook.

  • Winter Break week 1: Dec 18-22 (No program)
  • Winter Break week 2: Dec 26-29 (No program)
