What is Swim Seattle?

Swim Seattle is an initiative that combines the efforts of Associated Recreation Council, Seattle Parks & Recreation and other community partners to remove financial barriers from learning to swim .

Swim Seattle began in 2023 as a pilot by providing a year of free lessons to a cohort of 250 youth. It  prioritizes access to those who cannot afford lessons, while also providing workshops to support children and their families in becoming comfortable swimmers and water-safe. Read the press release announcing this initiative.

How do I get involved?

There are three main ways to get involved:

  1. Help us provide free swim lessons to underserved members of our community by donating to Swim Seattle.
  2. Sign up for more information about the Swim Seattle program if you're interested in participating here.
  3. Share the Safe Waters for All video with your family and friends!
